Gunvor Marie Dyrdal is a licensed psychologist with a Ph.D. in Positive Psychology, completed through collaborative studies in Norway and the United States. She has undertaken multiple professional and academic residencies in the U.S., including as a Fulbright Scholar at University of California, Riverside, reflecting her commitment to fostering international collaboration and excellence. She led the Mindfulness Education programs at NTNU until its termination in 2024, and is deeply dedicated to mindfulness, mental health, and mental training. As an associate professor in mindfulness and positive psychology at NTNU she has been engaged in research on life satisfaction, happiness, and factors contributing to meaningful lives. She has substantive experience in creating educational programs, is an experienced lecturer and process facilitator.
Gunvor has been actively engaged in leadership and organizational development for several years. Her focus lies in nurturing individuals and organizations by helping people uncover their core values and unique strengths to maximize their potential, both as individuals and in teams. She supports leaders, individuals, and groups in finding direction, setting strategic goals, and applying mindfulness-based approaches and process-oriented methods to foster personal and professional growth.
Her extensive experience in mental training highlights the benefits of enhanced mindfulness, including improved focus, better performance, reduced distractibility, improved work-life balance, reduced stress, and increased well-being in both personal and professional contexts. Gunvor is passionate about cultivating conscious leadership and sustainable development—both internally and externally—and actively contributes to these goals through her work.
