Frøya Ventures Applauds Norwegian Government’s Bold Move to Empower Female Entrepreneurs

Frøya Ventures is thrilled by the government’s intensified commitment to supporting female entrepreneurs, as demonstrated in the latest “Founder Notice.” The proposed 52 million NOK boost in the 2025 budget represents a substantial investment in empowering women-led startups, fostering innovation, and driving sustainable growth across Norway.

Our deepest gratitude goes to the former Minister of Trade, Mr. Vestre, and the current Minister of Trade, Ms. Myrseth, for their steadfast support and dedication to this cause. We also thank Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries and Innovation Norway for their invaluable work and for acknowledging our contributions to shaping this agenda.

Frøya Ventures has proudly taken an active role in influencing this movement. We participated in input meetings and workshops on female entrepreneurship in pre-meetings to the founder notice, submitted feedback during the hearing, and delivered a lightning talk to the Minister of Trade in Oslo during an input meeting on March 5th. Today, we were honored to be highlighted in the “Founder Notice” presentation by the Minister of Trade, and we’re committed to supporting Norway’s vision of becoming one of the world’s best countries for starting a business—especially for female founders. It’s time to ensure that more female entrepreneurs have the resources and support to succeed!

“This amplified focus on financing, networking, and specialized competency services for female entrepreneurs is a game-changer,” sais the founders of Frøya Ventures; Åshild Hanne Larsen, Ann-Christin Spone, and Camilla Dybendal. “It will empower more women to realize their growth ambitions, fuel the green transition, and create the sustainable jobs of tomorrow. This initiative represents an opportunity Norway cannot afford to miss.”

We eagerly anticipate continuing our work to pave the way for future female entrepreneurs, knowing this strengthened political prioritization is here to stay. The future of Norwegian entrepreneurship is bright, and we’re honored to be a part of it.

Minister of Trade, please Increase Funding to Investinor!

To remain competitive in a global economy increasingly driven by innovation, Norway must prioritize investment in high-growth companies that are shaping the future. A significant step in this direction would be to increase funding to Investinor to levels comparable with those of our Nordic neighbors, Denmark and Sweden.

Denmark and Sweden have made substantial commitments to their venture capital arms, enabling stronger support for startups and scale-ups in key industries. These countries are witnessing impressive returns—not only financially but also in terms of job creation, technological advancement, and international competitiveness.

To ensure Norway keeps pace, it’s crucial that the government bolsters Investinor’s resources. A more substantial fund would empower Investinor to take on greater risks, invest in diverse industries, and support innovative Norwegian companies as they expand internationally. This would also attract private investors and foreign capital to Norway – amplifying the impact of public funds.
