Frøya Ventures Partners with University of Stavanger to Boost Female Entrepreneurship in Norway

Frøya Ventures is thrilled to announce a strategic partnership with the University of Stavanger (UiS). Our mission is to increase diversity among innovative Norwegian startups and the ecosystems that support them, with a particular focus on projects that boost the number of female entrepreneurs and the investment capital available to them.

The University of Stavanger‘s Department of Innovation and External Relations, through its Lyspæren Innovation House, provides a dynamic environment for idea development, innovation, and entrepreneurship among students. This collaboration will strengthen our shared goal of increasing the number of female entrepreneurs in Norway.

Troels Gyde Jacobsen, Innovation Director at the Department of Innovation and External Relations, is committed to fostering a more inclusive and vibrant entrepreneurial landscape in Norway. “We are excited to work with Frøya Ventures to support and empower the next generation of female entrepreneurs.”, Mr Jacobsen says.

UiS acts as a national and international hub for growth, facilitating knowledge transfer, networking, and connections. Lyspæren at UiS serves as a platform that connects new innovative startups and scaling companies with established industries and investor communities like Frøya Ventures.

”The importance of this partnership in motivating young people to test their entrepreneurial skills, connect with investors, and gain the competence needed to start a business should not be underestimated” “, says Camilla Dybendal, Managing Partner and founder of Frøya Ventures. “This collaboration is crucial for encouraging young individuals to apply the knowledge they gain through their studies at universities and colleges to create new, innovative companies. It aligns perfectly with the vision we had when we founded Frøya Ventures, alongside my co-founders Åshild Hanne Larsen and Ann-Christin Spone.

Together, Frøya Ventures and UiS will leverage this partnership to further develop the region’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. Åshild Hanne Larsen, Frøya Ventures Board Chair and founder, highlighted the importance of access to talent and expertise for Norwegian startups: “Ensuring that Norwegian startups have access to a supporting ecosystem, along with private investment capital, is vital. This partnership will help bridge existing gaps and support further growth and realisation of new ideas, products and companies – creating ripple effects in the Stavanger region and beyond.”
